    Prof. Jin Juliang was born in November, 1966, in Jiangsu province, China. He specializes in the fields of water resource system engineering and water disaster risk management. He obtained his doctor degree from Hohai University and then worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in Sichan University. Currently, Prof. Jin is a professor at Hefei University of Technology (HFUT) and a doctoral advisor at HFUT and Yangzhou University. He is also a research scientist of Centre for Energy & Environmental Policy Research at Beijing Institute of Technology, a part-time professor at Lanzhou University, Zhengzhou University, Northeast Agricultural University, and a visiting professor at Inner Mongolia Agricultural University. Prof. Jin is the director of Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, and the executive director of Energy Economy and Management, Complex Systems Research of Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, as well as a member of Water Resource Committee of China Society of Natural Resources, Agricultural System Engineering of Systems Engineering Society of China, Fundamentals Council of Artificial Intelligence of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence. He is also a member of the editorial boards of five academic journals (e.g., Journal of Hydraulic Engineering).

    Prof. Jin has carried out creative research work on pattern recognition, dynamic evaluation and management of water resource and water disaster complex system. He has been responsible for 30 scientific research projects sponsored by the Chinese government. Prof. Jin has been awarded 16 times and has got 7 authorized patents. He published 10 monographs, 3 national appointed textbooks and 123 papers indexed by SCI and EI and cited 6352 times.
