On November 29, 2020, the seminar on “household energy transformation and residents' energy consumption behavior" hosted by the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research of Beijing Institute of Technology was successfully held. Professor Wei Yi-Ming, vice president of Beijing Institute of technology and director of energy and environmental policy research center, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Professor Liao Hua, deputy director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy and National Outstanding Youth Fund winner, Professor Qiu Huanguang, vice president of School of Agriculture and Rural Development of Renmin University of China and Changjiang Scholar, presided over the meeting. More than 460 experts, scholars, teachers and students from institutions of higher learning and scientific research institutes registered and participated in the seminar.

Professor Qiu Huanguang, Associate Dean and Changjiang Scholar of School of Agriculture and Rural Development of Renmin University of China; Professor Shi Xunpeng, chief researcher of Australia China Relations Research Institute of Sydney University of Science and Technology; Professor Sheng Yu, deputy director of China Agricultural Policy Research Center of Peking University; Dr. Zhang Lin, Assistant Professor of School of Energy and Environment of City University of Hong Kong; Professor Zhang Xiaobing, School of Applied Economics of Renmin University of China; and Professor Liao Hua, deputy director of Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research of Beijing Institute of Technology and winner of National Outstanding Young Scholars Fund, respectively discussed "energy consumption behavior of poor farmers", "influencing factors of household energy consumption and carbon emissions", "agricultural productivity and capital deepening", "rural energy infrastructure and income equality", "public transport and automobile purchase behavior", "household electricity consumption and temperature". Professor Tang Baojun, Associate Dean of the School of Management and Economics and young scholar of Yangtze River, Professor Yu Biying and Qu Shen, deputy director of Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research, National Excellent Youth Fund winners, and Dr. Chen Hao, School of Applied Economics, Renmin University of China attended the offline meeting.

Offline and online, teachers and students had full discussions and exchanges with the report experts on the research ideas, methods, and content related to the report. This seminar is part of a series of seminars by the Center of Energy and Environmental Policy Research. The seminar has achieved good results in personnel training and special academic exchanges.
