From July 17 to 19, 2020, the summer camp for energy and climate economics of Beijing Institute of Technology was smoothly carried out. The summer camp was held online for the first time, with more than 20 students from Chongqing University, Lanzhou University, Shandong University, China Agricultural University, and other universities. The Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research of Beijing Institute of Technology was the main organizer. Through full preparation and process optimization in the early stage, each participant in the activity had a deep understanding of the development status and school running strength of the Beijing Institute of Technology in the field of energy and climate economics.

On the morning of July 17, the summer camp students visited the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research at the Beijing Institute of Technology. During this period, teachers and students of the center introduced and displayed the national energy model integration platform independently developed by the center, so that everyone had a preliminary understanding of the overall framework of the research work of the center.

On the afternoon of July 17, five doctoral students from the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research introduced their respective research fields and related research work, including comprehensive assessment of climate change, carbon emission reduction mechanism, green development status of the high energy-consuming industry and its transformation path and effect, energy demand prediction, carbon capture, and storage, which gained interest from the audience and enthusiastic questions aroused from students. The students of the center had a warm interaction with the participants.

On the morning of July 18, three academic reports were given by three professors from the center. First, Professor Shen Meng introduced the frontier issues of behavioral science and smart energy management from a micro perspective. Next, Professor Zhao Weigang explained the challenges of energy demand analysis and prediction under the new situation. Then, Professor Liao Hua introduced the development process and the current situation of climate change economics. The academic reports were easy to understand and gained much attention from students.

On the afternoon of July 18, each of the summer camp students gave a personal presentation regarding their research work in the field of energy and climate economy so that the teachers from the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research fully understood their scientific research ability, and achieved good results.

On the morning of July 19, through the "Cloud Tour" of the school history museum and the main building, the summer camp students had a deep understanding of the development process of Beijing Institute of Technology from Yan'an Academy of Natural Sciences to now, and the school running conditions of the School of Management and Economics. At the closing ceremony, Mr. Yuan Xiaochen read out the list of outstanding campers and welcomed all the students to join the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research of Beijing Institute of Technology in the future.

The "2020 Summer Camp for Energy and Climate Economics" is completed. However, the relationship between the students and the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research of Beijing Institute of Technology is just beginning. We sincerely welcome all outstanding students to join the CEEP-BIT family and forge ahead on the academic road with sunshine in their hearts and strength at their feet!
