At 15:00 on March 22, 2018, Shisen XU, Chairman of China Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute, was invited to visit CEEP and gave a talk entitled “Progress of Near-zero Emissions Coal-based Power Generation Technology”. The report was hosted by Prof. Baojun TANG, many teachers and students attended the report.

　　Shisen XU, professor-level senior engineer, Ph.D., Chairman of China Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute. The first batch of “Top 100 Technology Talents in Beijing” and “National Outstanding Science and Technology Workers”. He won 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and several provincial and ministerial awards. He has been engaged in the research of clean coal power generation technology for a long time. He is the chief academic leader of China's integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) and CO2 capture and utilization direction, and is the technical leader and chief engineer of China's first IGCC demonstration power station. He is the Chinese director of the China-US Clean Energy Joint Research Center-Clean Coal Technology Alliance, the main Chinese leader of China-Australia, China-Italy CO2 capture, use and storage technology cooperation and other intergovernmental international cooperation projects.
　　In today's report, Chairman Shisen XU mainly reviewed the development history of coal-based power generation technology, summarized the progress of near-zero-emission coal-based power generation technologies in domestic and foreign, and proposed the research and development directions and application prospects of future coal-based power generation technologies.After the report, Chairman Shisen XU took the picture with teachers and students at CEEP together.
