At 15:00 on March 15, 2018, Liao Hua, professor of Center for Energy & Environmental Policy Research, gave a talk entitled “Data in empirical studies”. The report was hosted by Prof. Yu Biying, many teachers and students attended the report.

　　Professor Liao Hua: Ph.D. & Professor, Vice-Director of Center for Energy & Environmental Policy Research (CEEP), Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Research fields: Energy Economics, Climate Policy, Energy-Economic Modeling and Development Economics. He has co-authored more than 70 papers in academic journals and co-authored 7 books. Selected awards or honors in recent years: Awarded by Excellent Young Scientist Foundation of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 2013; Awarded by Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of Ministry of Education of China, 2013; Awarded by Program for Excellent Young Talents in Beijing, 2013; Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Beijing, 2009; President Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2008.
　　In today's report, Professor Liao Hua started from the definition of empirical research and the importance of data, he introduced data types, common data, data usage, data transparency, research reproducibility, and data perception in empirical research.
