Associate researcher Yun-chang Bai gave talks in CEEP-BIT

  On July 19, 2017, professor Yun-chang Bai from Chinese Culture University gave a report entitled “Applied General Equilibrium Analysis-Introduction of Taiwan Models” at CEEP, BIT. The report was hosted by Prof. Hua Liao, some other teachers and students attended the report.

  In the lecture, Prof. Bai briefly introduced the mechanism of the Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) and presented the main formulas and parameters. After years of studying the model, Prof. Bai also shared some personal experiences of using the model. Comparing with econometrics methods, the CGE model has several advantages. By using the CGE model to reflect the social economics impacts of different pricing of electricity power, he gave us a better understanding of how the model works.

  Professor Yun-chang Bai has received his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Purdue University. He is the professor of Department of Economics and Land Resources, Chinese Culture University, Vice President of the International Energy Economics Association (IAEE, International Association of Energy Economics), Chinese Economy Director of Energy and Environment Research Center of the Research Institute, Economic Policy Advisor of China Economic Research Institute, Consultant of Taiwan Economic Research Institute, Consultant of Taiwan Comprehensive Research Institute. His main research areas include energy economics, environmental economics, overall economic policy, general equilibrium theory and quantitative methods.
