Supported by the National Key Technology R&D Program, a research team led by Prof. WEI Yiming, deputy director-general of the CAS (Chinese Academic Sciences) Institute of Policy and Management (IPM), has started a project on the risk assessment technology for the exploitation and utilization of overseas mineral resources. A meeting was held on 5 July at IPM to discuss the implementation scheme of the project. It was attended by the project’s subcomponent leaders from IPM, East China University of Science and Technology, Tianjin University, and University of Science and Technology Beijing. The participants held discussions on such issues as the overall objectives, tasks of subcomponents, system design and integration, risk assessment models, and priorities of the project.
