CEEP Holds the Workshop on POEM

The Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research, Beijing Institute of Technology (CEEP-BIT) holds the China Workshop on POEM-Policy options to engage emerging Asian economies in a post-Kyoto regimeon Sep.25th, 2012. Prof. Yi-Ming Wei, director of CEEP-BIT hosts the workshop.


 
In the very beginning of POEM, Prof. Jin-Lin Li addresses the welcome speech. After that the project leader, associate Prof. Erik Ahlgren from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden comprehensively presents the results of POEM.


 

During the workshop, members from CEEP and researches from other institutes respectively introduce their findings under the project. Among those, Qiao-Mei Liang, associate from CEEP-BIT introduces the impacts of carbon tax and carbon emission trade on economic growth and social welfare of China based on CEEPA model. Also Prof. P.R. Shukla and Basanta Kumar Pradhan from India illuminate their findings of low carbon transition policy in India and growth and welfare implications of climate policies for Indiarespectively.

 

The workshop on POEM provides a great opportunity for researches from different countries to share their standing points and crucial findings, promoting the energy policy more efficient and more plausible.
