Abstract: Distinct in style from previous academic monographs released by the research center, this publication is designed as a popular science volume featuring data-driven illustrations. Drawing upon abundant foundational statistics and visual charts, it adopts a Q&A format to depict the key conditions and operational patterns of China’s energy economy from the perspectives of temporal trends, spatial distribution and international benchmarks. Its thematic coverage spans energy reserves and production, energy consumption dynamics, energy markets, energy-related environmental impacts, as well as energy security. The book aims to draw greater attention to China’s energy-economic challenges from diverse readership groups both domestically and overseas, while helping audiences gain a clear grasp of the fundamentals of the country’s energy development trajectory.
