Study on CO₂ Emissions in Beijing has recently been officially published and distributed by Science Press. This monograph is authored by Professor Baojun Tang, Deputy Director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research, together with her research team.Developing a low-carbon economy represents an inevitable choice for Beijing to break through its resource and environmental constraints. In line with the Outline of the 13th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of Beijing, green livability indicators have been prioritized above economic indicators in local development planning. Centering on prominent issues concerning Beijing's carbon emissions, the publication examines energy consumption and carbon emission features across the city's three major industrial sectors and key sub-industries from the perspective of industrial evolution, and systematically identifies the underlying driving factors.
