GDF Suez makes a natural gas discovery in Algeria; 'Crucial year' for nuclear energy sector

——French utility GDF Suez said on Monday that gas had been discovered in Illizi, a region of southeast Algeria, and the Illizi licence is GDF Suez's second in the country where its Touat project in the southwest is in the development phase and due to enter production in 2017.
——Power Construction Corporation of China has signed two agreements including the Pakistan Port Qasim coal-fired power project and the Dawood wind power plant project to support the construction of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.

——During the 11th China International Exhibition on Nuclear Power Industry 2015 in Beijing, according to Zhang Huazhu, chairman of the China Nuclear Energy Association, the year of 2015 will mark an important year for China to resume its nuclear power program after Japan's nuclear crisis.
——China Energy Fund Committee (CEFC), a non-governmental and non-profit organization based in China's Hong Kong, predicted that it was possible that the country would lead the world in clean coal utilization, given China's heavy dependence on coal and the strong will to cut emissions.
——The adjustment that the retail price of gasoline will increase by 300 yuan (US$49) per tonne and diesel by 285 yuan, which will come into effect on 26th April,2015, means the benchmark retail price of gasoline will increase 0.22 yuan per liter and diesel will increase by 0.24 yuan, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in a statement.
