——The United Nations Climate Summit was held at UN headquarters in New York on Sep 30, 2014, in order to raise political will, mobilize action and generate momentum toward a successful outcome of the negotiations in Paris in 2015.
——Gailius Draugelis, a Lead Energy Specialist at the World Bank, pointed out that global concentration of carbon dioxide surpassed its highest level in 30 years, which was mainly caused by three issues related to energy needs, energy consumption and carbon sequestration.
——According to World Meteorological Organization, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased at the unprecedented speed with the decreasing proportion of fossil-fuel emissions absorbed by the oceans.
——United States Department of Energy unveiled the newest regulations on energy saving to reduce the energy consumption of industrial and commercial architecture.

——The 5 million mu project for conversion of degraded farm into forest and grass land in 2014 has been formed, which shows the new project for conversion of degraded farm into forest and grass land has been put into formal practice.
——The action projects for the energy conservation, emission reduction and update of coal and electricity were printed and distributed by National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Environment Protection of the People's Republic of China and National Energy Administration.
