On the afternoon of November 23, 2017, Dr. Yu-Fu Chen from University of Dundee was invited to visit and give an academic report entitled "GOING OFFSHORE: INVESTMENTS IN GERMAN WIND ENERGY UNDER UNCERTAINTY." The report was hosted by Hao Yu, many teachers and students participated in the report.
Dr. Yu-Fu Chen gained both a BSc and an MSc in Chemistry from the National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, a PG Diploma in Economics from the University of Warwick, and both an MSc and a PhD in Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London. His research interests cover financial economics, real options applications, international finance and macroeconomics.
By employing a rigorous continuous-time real options modelling framework, today’s report scrutinizes the incentives to invest in German offshore wind farms. The focus of the analysis is the mode of action of the German feed-in tariff system for offshore wind energy deployment. The results obtained can be used by policy-makers to design comprehensive and efficient offshore wind energy support measures.
After the report,Dr. Yu-Fu Chen took photos with teachers and students at CEEP.
