To thoroughly implement the relevant spirits of the China-UK Roundtable on Digital Higher Education and actively deliver on the consensus on the pilot co-construction of curriculum resources between Chinese and British universities, the Beijing Laboratory for System Engineering of Carbon Neutrality has collaborated with University College London (UCL) in the UK to develop four online open courses, namely Energy Economics, Carbon Finance, Carbon Emission Reduction Management, and Management for Carbon Mitigation Technologies. All courses have been officially launched on the XuetangX platform.
Supported by the Ministry of Education’s Pilot Program for the Co-construction of Digital Courses between Chinese and British Universities, this collaboration is closely aligned with the university’s integrated undergraduate and postgraduate training system. It marks a solid step forward for both parties in addressing global climate change, advancing the development of green energy, and cultivating high-level talents in the field of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality (dual carbon) goals. Centering on cutting-edge directions including energy economics, carbon finance, emission reduction management, and carbon neutrality technology management, the four courses integrate cutting-edge theories with industrial practices and highlight the integrated application and innovation of artificial intelligence in the energy and economic sectors. They aim to cultivate interdisciplinary, high-level compound talents with global vision who can contribute to national modernization.
