On December13th 2014, Dr. Chun Bo Ma of University of Western Australiagave a talk about“The Marginal Abatement Cost of Carbon Emissions in China”. The report was hosted by Prof.Liao Hua. Prof. Wei Yiming, the director of CEEP-BIT, some teachers and students attended the seminar.
　　During this seminar, Dr. Chun Bo Mapointedout that a problemthat empirical estimates varied widely in the magnitude and variation underminedthe support for policies to curb carbon emission.To cope with this problem, heapplied three commonly used distance functions to China’s provincial data.This report triggered the in-depth discussion of relevant issues between Dr. Chun Bo Ma and participants after this seminar.
