On August 23, the Seminar on Carbon Emission Reduction System Engineering was held at the China Hall of Science and Technology. The event was funded by the China Association for Science and Technology, hosted by the China Coal Society, and organized by the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research of Beijing Institute of Technology. More than 30 front‑line experts from universities, research institutes and enterprises exchanged views on relevant topics.

During the keynote session, Researcher Wang Rui from Sinopec Petroleum Exploration and Production Research Institute, Professor‑level Senior Engineer Xu Dong from China Energy Investment Group, Professor Wang Lidong from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of North China Electric Power University, and Professor Chen Kaihua from the School of Public Policy and Management of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences delivered special reports respectively on CCUS technology and industrial development, pathways toward energy carbon neutrality, coordinated control of pollutants and carbon emissions from coal‑fired sources, and artificial‑intelligence‑driven scientific research. After the presentations, participating experts conducted in‑depth discussions covering carbon‑neutral technology innovation, industrial development and interdisciplinary talent training.
