On September 2nd, 2016, Prof. Qian-jin Wang from University of Chinese Academy of Science(UCAS), gave a report entitled “Where does New China’s Guiding Ideology in Technology Come From & the Historical Status of  Yan'an Research Academy of Natural Sciences ” at CEEP-BIT. 
　　The report was hosted by Professor Bao-Jun Tang (Deputy Director of the Center). Prof. Yi-Ming Wei (Director of the center), with some other teachers and students attended the report, and had an in-depth discussion of this topic. Prof. Wang analyzed the guiding ideology of developing technology in the Yan’an period, including the science and technology organization, the statement of guiding ideology in technology, this period’ achievements and its experience. Then he made a comparison in terms of guiding ideology between the Yan’an period and the start-up of the new China, and explained the relevance and changes of these two stages. 
　　Prof. Wang now is the second grade professor of School of Humanities, UCAS, and part-time professor of three other universities. Besides, he is the editorial advisory board member of “Studies in the History of Natural Sciences”, “International Sinology” and “Studies in Science of Science”. He has made a wealth of scientific research in the field of  history of Chinese history of cartography and geography,  contemporary science and technology strategy and policy and  marine science and civilization in China. 

　　After this lecture, teachers and students from CEEP-BIT had a heated discussion with Prof. Wang and had a picture taken together.
