From December 29 to 30, 2025, Professor Wei Yiming, Director of the Beijing Lab for System Engineering of Carbon Neutrality at Beijing Institute of Technology, led a research team to conduct field research at Zaozhuang Bayi Power Plant. Discussions focused on the synergy of pollution reduction, carbon mitigation and energy conservation in the power sector, as well as progress and engineering application performance of ultra‑low‑emission technical routes. Lü Yang, General Manager of Shandong Guoshun Construction Group, Wang Lei, Deputy General Manager of Zaozhuang Bayi Power Plant of Shandong Energy Group, and heads of relevant departments accompanied the field visit.

During the research, the team conducted on‑site inspections of ultra‑low‑emission technical routes for flue‑gas desulfurization, denitrification and dust removal. They gained in‑depth knowledge of the process flow, operational performance and energy‑efficiency benefits of the wet‑desulfurization flue‑gas waste‑heat recovery project at Zaozhuang Bayi Power Plant.

Since May 27, 2023, when the laboratory and Shandong Guoshun Construction Group jointly established the Institute for Low‑Carbon Technology and Engineering Management Innovation, the two sides have continuously advanced joint research on low‑carbon technology integration and engineering‑management innovation. Taking Zaozhuang Bayi Power Plant as a demonstration site, this field investigation carried out on‑site surveys and seminars regarding the engineering application of relevant research outcomes. Combined with on‑site operating conditions, the laboratory team put forward optimization suggestions covering operating parameters of the waste‑heat recovery system, matching of collaborative emission‑reduction processes and benefit‑accounting methods, so as to provide technical support for subsequent operational optimization and demonstration promotion by the enterprise.
