On 26th June, 2015, Jiangfeng Zhang, Senior Lecturer of University of Strathclyde,visited CEEP-BIT. He gave a talk about “Applications of modeling techniques in energy optimization” and received a warm welcome. This seminar was hosted by Prof.Bao-Jun Tang, the deputy director of CEEP-BIT. Teachers along with students from CEEP-BIT attended this seminar.

　　In thistalk, Dr. Jiangfeng Zhangpresented a general overview of energy optimization modeling. And then, he discussed the energy system modeling from the viewpoints of mass balance, energy balance, logic constrains, and process and service correlations. Besides, Dr. Jiangfeng Zhang introduced the applications of typical techniques of mathematical modeling and control modeling in energy optimization and talked about case studies from water pumping system, mining plants, power plant maintenance, energy project investment, etc.

　　After this seminar, teachers and students from CEEP-BIT had a heated discussion with Dr. Jiangfeng Zhang and had a picture taken together.
