On the morning of November 24, 2017, Dr.Chen Weiqiang from the Xiamen Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to visit and give an academic report entitled "The Comparative Development of China and the United States in the Perspective of Inventory of Products and Materials". The report was hosted by Prof. Liao Hua and many teachers and students participated in the report.
Chen Weiqiang obtained bachelor's degree in environmental engineering and a doctorate in environmental science and engineering from Tsinghua University in 2004 and 2010 respectively and from 2010 to 2015 at the Institute of Industrial Ecology at Yale University. He joined the Institute of Urban Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences in late 2015 as a research fellow and head of the research group on "Resource Metabolism and Environmental Effects". From July 2016 and September 2016, he served as SCI Journal Resources, Conservation, and Recycling and English Journal Associate Editor, Energy, Ecology and Environment.
In his report today, he introduced how to measure the level of regional development from the perspective of the stock and flow of material products, and introduced his research results through the empirical analysis and comparison between the United States and China.
