Prof. Zili Yang’s lecture on DICE&RICE during visit to CEEP-BIT

  On the afternoon of Nov.28, Prof. Zili Yang from State University of New York at Binghamton was invited to give a lecture in CEEP, which topic is the Dynamic Integrated Climate-Economy model (DICE) and the Regional Dynamic General-Equilibrium model of Alternative Climate-Change Policy (RICE).

  This seminar was hosted by deputy director Hua Liao. Prof. Yi-Ming Wei, director of CEEP-BIT, Bao-Jun Tang, deputy director of CEEP-BIT, as well as other teachers and students attended this seminar.

  The main research fields of Prof. Zili Yang focus on Resources and Environmental Economics, Economic Modeling, Applied Game Theory and etc. Cooperating with Prof. William D. Nordhaus, he has developed and constructed one of the most influential Climate Change Integrated Assessment models ------ the Regional Dynamic General-Equilibrium model of Alternative Climate-Change Policy (RICE) in the world.

  In the lecture, taking the example of DICE/RICE , Prof. Yang introduced IAMs from the perspective of economics and analyzed limitations and applications of IAMs on the methodological level. He also explained the structures, principles and relevant applications of DICE, the evolutionary process from DICE to RICE and other knowledge in detail.


  After this seminar, teachers and students from CEEP-BIT had a heated discussion with Prof. Zili Yang and had a picture taken together.
