"Energy and Climate Change" Academic Journal Launch Conference Held in Shanghai

  On September 21, 2019, at the 10th Annual China Energy Economics and Management Academic Conference held in Shanghai, Elsevier's new issue, Energy and Climate Change, held a launch conference. Co-Editors-in-Chief of the Journal are Professor Wei Yi-Ming of Beijing University of Technology and Professor Leon Clarke of the University of Maryland. From Tsinghua University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao tong University, Fudan University, Tongji University, Sun Yat-sen University, Dalian University of Technology, Tianjin University, Harbin University of Technology, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, South China University of Technology, Shandong University, Renmin University, Beijing University of Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and nearly 500 scholars from related fields from dozens of well-known universities and research institutes in China attended the conference. The journal focuses on science and technology in energy and climate change, as well as its cross-cutting research with social sciences such as economic management. It aims to lead the frontier academic research in the cross-disciplinary field of international energy and climate change, and contribute to the sustainable development of global energy and address climate change.

  At the launch conference, Professor Wei Yi-Ming, Editor-in-Chief of Energy and Climate Change, introduced the journal's founding process, as well as its objectives and scope. He said that, unlike other journals in the same field, Energy and Climate Change has its own specific goals and scope. It aims to provide a platform for communication in areas ranging from energy production and storage, the causes of climate change to energy technology, climate change and the socio-economic impact of energy and climate policies. Promote rapid communication and dialogue among scientists, engineers, economists, and policymakers working in the field of energy and climate change. As editor-in-chief, he hopes that the journal would lead the development of international energy and climate change cross-cutting areas in academic discussion and scientific research in the future. He believes that under the joint efforts of the editorial team, reviewers and authors, the journal will become an important platform for academic exchanges in the field of energy and climate change, and contribute to the sustainable development of mankind.

  On behalf of the company, Mr. Zhao Ge Nan, General Manager of Science and Technology Department of Elsevier, introduced Elsevier's mission in China and its periodical development strategy. Ms. Deborah Logan, publishing director of Elsevier Journals, said that with the increasing demand for the energy sector to meet the climate targets of the agreement and for researchers to assess the impact of energy production and use, Energy and Climate Change Journal would become a very necessary and important issue in the Elsevier Energy Series.

  At present, under the organization of Professor Wei Yi-Ming and Professor Leon Clarke, 26 scholars from 16 countries with high international academic reputation and influence have jointly formed a well-structured editorial committee, and related work has been gradually carried out. With a successful launch conference, the journal website will be launched officially in November, when high-quality research results in the cross-cutting field of energy and climate change will be collected globally.
