At 16:00 pm on June 4, 2019, Professor CHEN Jingming, an academician of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences, was invited to visit and tell the story of his academic career in a sharing session. This report was presided over by Professor Baojun-Tang, deputy director of the center. The teachers and students of the center participated in the report.
CHEN Jingming is a professor at the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toronto, a winner of the National Thousand Talents Program, a senior chief scientist in Canada, and a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences. Has long been engaged in vegetation remote sensing and global change research, has published more than 350 SCI papers, cited by more than 16,500 times by peers, H index is 64. And now he is the Editor-in-Chief of Remote Sensing Environment, Associate Professor of Journal Geophysical Research-Biogeosciences. and Canadian Journal of Remote Senssing.
In today's report, Academician Chen mainly introduced two scientists, one is Dr. Juhan Ross of Tartu Observatory in Estonia. His book "Radiation Regimes in Plant Canopies" has a profound influence on his academic career; another Professor John Norman of the University of Wisconsin at Madison in the United States, a night talk in his home changed the academic value of Chen. In addition to their innovative thinking and hard work, their persistent pursuit and broad mind led Chen to leave the plight of the ego.
