The Sessions of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies constitute a key permanent meeting mechanism within the global climate‑governance system. Usually held in Bonn, Germany every mid‑year, its agenda is advanced jointly by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI). The conference undertakes critical functions including technical preparation, policy deliberation and agenda coordination for the annual UN Climate Change Conference. It serves as an important platform for national governments, international organizations, research institutions and observer bodies to engage in global climate governance.
