The BIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEP-BIT) attaches great importance to the international cultivation of talents, encouraging students to engage with the world’s top universities and research institutions to broaden their academic horizons and build cross-border research collaborations. Currently, more than ten doctoral students from the center are pursuing joint training at prestigious universities and research institutions across Europe, North America, Australia and other regions. Through active participation in international conferences, in-depth research group seminars and extensive academic exchanges, doctoral students absorb frontier knowledge and refine their research capabilities. The following is the latest update on overseas academic visits.
Qi Jiahong Attends "Women in Transportation" Thematic Forum Hosted by ITLS, University of Sydney
On March 10, 2026, Qi Jiahong, a doctoral student in the center’s overseas joint-training program, attended the first thematic forum of 2026 titled Women in Transportation hosted by the University of Sydney. Moderated by Cecilia Warren, Vice Chair of the ITLS Board of Advice, the event drew over 100 attendees including faculty, students and industry professionals.
The forum invited a number of guests from fields including transport technology, logistics and supply chain management, transport policy and planning, and academic research to share their insights. Speakers included Emily Bobis, Co-founder of Compass IoT; Kara Cheung, Chair of WiLAT Australia; Julie Gee, Strategy and Policy Expert at the Department of Transport; and Sara Haider, researcher at the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS). Drawing on their respective professional backgrounds, the guests held systematic discussions on cutting-edge topics such as connected vehicle data applications, leadership in the transport and logistics sector, integrated transport planning and active transport infrastructure, and exchanged updates on the latest progress in technological innovation, social equity and sustainable development.

During the forum, Qi Jiahong listened carefully to the guests’ presentations on intelligent transport, transport equity, policy making and behavior-oriented transport infrastructure research. He further deepened his understanding of the frontiers of transport technology application, transport policy design and sustainable travel research, which provided valuable insights for his follow-up research on sustainable mobility and data-driven transport governance.
