    Prof. Yi-Ming Wei was born on March 10, 1968, in JiangXi province, China. He is the Dean and Professor of the School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China. He is also the Founding Director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research at BIT. His recent research and teaching focus on Energy Policy and Energy Economics, CO2 Reduction and Climate Policy, Comprehensive Analysis of Sustainable Development issues in China, Disaster Risk Assessment and Management, Complex System Analysis and Modeling. In 1998, Dr. Yi-Ming Wei joined the Institute of Policy and Management, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) from the State Key Laboratory of Resources and Environment Information System of China and was appointed as the Deputy Director-General of the CAS institute of Policy and Management from October 2000 to November 2008. He is also the founding director of IPM-CAS and RIET-CNPC Joint Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research. He has carried out over 30 research projects, published 12 books and over 200 papers in widely peer review Journals such as Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Environmental Modelling and Software, Environmental Impact Assessment Review, Energy, Ecological Economics, Journal of Policy Modeling. Dr. Wei has been awarded by the Prize of Science and Technology for Young Scholars (2001), National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2004), and honor of National Excellent Postdoctoral (2005), Hundred Talents Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2005), Chair Professor of Changjiang Scholar program of the Ministry of Education of China(2008), Honor of Excellent Researcher of China Awarded by China Association for Science and Technology(2012), Honor of Excellent Teacher of Beijing Municipality(2013). Prof. Yi-Ming Wei is the Vice President of the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economic Mathematics (OOPEM), President of Chinese Society of Energy Economics and Management of OOPEM, President of Chinese Society of Complex System Research of OOPEM, Vice President of Chinese Society of Computer simulation of OOPEM, Vice Chairman of Energy System Engineering Council of China Energy Research Society. Prof.Wei is the subject editor of Applied Energy, and a member of the editorial boards of International Journal of Green Energy, Energy and Environmental, International Journal of Energy and Environment, International Journal of Global Energy Issues, Energy of China, Petroleum Science, International Journal of Risk Assessment & Management, International Journal of Management and Decision Making, Economics Research International, Chinese Journal of Management Science, Sun Yat-sun Management Review. He also served as the guest editor of an issue/volume of several journals including Computers and Industrial Engineering, International Journal of Global Energy Issues.
